Andreas Grøvan Aspaas

Andreas Grøvan Aspaas is a Research Fellow at the University of Oslo's Department of Geosciences, specializing in the Section for Crustal Processes. He holds a Master’s degree in Structural Geology and Tectonics (2019, UiO) and a Bachelor’s in Geology and Geohazards (2017, University of Western Norway). His research focuses on geomechanics, particularly fracturing, friction, and slope stability through monitoring and modeling. He has contributed to studies on landslide dynamics, permafrost in rock slopes, and creep bursts in Norway. He assists in teaching GEO4131 (Geomechanics) and GEO4151 (Earthquake and Volcanic Processes). His work experience includes roles at the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) since 2019.
