Andreas Fritz

Dr. Andreas Fritz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Emory University, leading the Fritz Lab (Rollins 1158). He earned a Diploma in Biology (1983) and Ph.D. (1988) from the University of Basel, Switzerland. His research uses zebrafish to study embryonic patterning, focusing on BMP and FGF signaling in sensory organ (inner ear, olfactory) and notochord development.

This work has implications for hair cell regeneration and stem cell niche maintenance. The lab employs genetic, molecular, and imaging approaches to investigate how signaling pathways control cellular behaviors during embryogenesis.
