Andreana Prichard is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Oklahoma. Her research focuses on intersections of gender, religion, and politics in nineteenth- and twentieth-century East Africa.
- Research Interests: Gender and Politics in Africa, Christianity in Africa, Race, Religion, and Nationalism, Christianity in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Prominent Work: Authored Sisters in Spirit: Christianity, Affect, and Community Building in East Africa, 1860-1960 (2017), examining female African lay evangelists and their role in the University's Mission to Central Africa.
- Current Research: Investigates the history of evangelical child sponsorship in East Africa and the American Bible Belt.
