Andrea de Flammineis

Andrea de Flammineis is a Professor of Bassoon at the Royal College of Music (RCM), where he teaches in the Woodwind department. He holds significant orchestral experience, serving as Principal Bassoonist for the Orchestra della Toscana (Florence) and later the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) orchestras under Sir Antonio Pappano, alongside the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields. His career includes collaborations with renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado and Carlos Kleiber, and he frequently guest-performs with ensembles like the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. A dedicated educator, he balances teaching at the RCM with his orchestral commitments.

Andrea’s education includes studies at the Conservatorio di Musica Giuseppe Verdi (Milan) and the Hochschule für Musik (Stuttgart). His professional highlights include performing Verdi’s *Otello* under Carlos Kleiber with the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and recording chamber music for labels like Decca and Orchid Classics. He is also a member of the London Concord Ensemble.
