Andrea Saito

Andrea Saito is a Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Nursing and a Nurse Practitioner at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System. As the first in her family to attend college, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University (2004) and a Master of Science from the UCSF School of Nursing (2008). In 2011, she pioneered the Critical Care Nurse Practitioner program at VA Palo Alto, where she now leads a growing team of 11 NPs.

Her clinical and educational work focuses on ICU patient care leadership, hospital emergency response (code blue teams), interprofessional education for Stanford residents and medical students, and precepting UCSF adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner students. She emphasizes skill development in academic writing, professional communication, and committee leadership through mentorship and hands-on training at the UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center.
