Andrea Radasanu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Northern Illinois University. Specializing in political philosophy, international relations theory, and ethics, her work explores foundational liberalism, Enlightenment thought, and the intersection of gender and religion in historical political discourse. She holds a Ph.D. and MA from the University of Toronto.
Her research focuses on Montesquieu's political and international relations theories, extending to his intellectual influence on Edmund Burke, Alexis de Tocqueville, and the American founders. She has contributed to journals such as Political Research Quarterly, Perspectives on Political Science, and History of Political Thought.
Notable publications include her edited volume The Pious Sex: Essays on Women in the History of Political Thought (Lexington Press, 2010) and a chapter titled "Flaubert: Eros and Politics After Rousseau." Her current project examines Montesquieu's international relations theory and its legacy.
