Andrea R. Johnson

Andrea R. Johnson serves as the Managing Attorney & Associate Program Director of the Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics and as a Senior Lecturer in Law at the George Washington University Law School. She oversees the Clinic’s law practice management, ethics compliance, and supports communications, development, student registration, and strategic planning. She teaches the Introduction to the 1L Classroom course and serves on the law school’s Staff Committee, Strategic Planning Committee Implementation team, ABA Site Visit Committee, and previously held leadership roles on the University Staff Council.

• JD with honors, George Washington University Law School
• BS in Psychology with minor in Political Science, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University

Professor Johnson specializes in business law and compliance with extensive professional experience as in-house counsel at Morning Consult negotiating commercial contracts and identifying legal risks, and as a Corporate & Securities Associate at Miles & Stockbridge, PC drafting merger agreements for technology firms. Her research and teaching focus on practical legal education through clinical programs, particularly in small business development and community economic contexts.

Her clinical expertise was cultivated during law school through the Small Business and Community Economic Development Clinic, Verizon legal internships, U.S. Small Business Administration externships, and Oxford’s International Human Rights Law program. She actively contributes to law school governance and student mentorship as an Inn of Court Advisor.
