She joined Surrey in 2012 as a Research Fellow and progressed through Lecturer roles before assuming her current position in 2025. Her academic responsibilities include serving as Cross-disciplinary Mathematics Teaching Coordinator (since 2024), Mathematics Year 1 Level Coordinator (2024/25), and SurreyLearn virtual learning environment coordinator (since 2022). She also mentors 10 undergraduate students as a Personal Tutor.
Education:
- PhD in Applied Mathematics, University of Cape Town (2007-2009)
- MSc in Physics, University of the Witwatersrand (2005-2006, with distinction)
- BSc (Hons) in Theoretical Physics, University of Cape Town (2004, with distinction)
- BSc in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics, University of Cape Town (2001-2003, triple distinction)
Research Focus: Dr. Prinsloo investigates Gravity and Quantum Field Theory, specializing in AdS/CFT correspondences, quantum integrable systems, and D/M-brane dynamics. Her work bridges mathematical physics and string theory, with consistent themes of quantum symmetries and graviton topology across publications.
Awards & Fellowships:
- NRF Innovation Postdoctoral Fellowship (2010-2012)
- Fellow of Advance HE (since 2016)
Student Supervision: Actively mentors postgraduate researchers including co-supervision of PhD candidate Vasileios Moustakis (2022-present) and MPhil graduate Mirco Di Gioia (2020-2023).
Professional Engagement: Member of the London Mathematical Society since 2015 and local organizer for three LMS-funded South-East Mathematical Physics Seminars (2015, 2018, 2022).
