Andrea Nichols is a Lecturer in the Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Her work focuses on human trafficking, criminal justice policy, and victim advocacy, with particular attention to LGBTQ+ populations and juvenile justice-involved minors. She has authored or co-authored multiple books, including *Sex Trafficking in the United States: Theory, Research, Policy and Practice* and *Social Work Practice with Survivors of Sex Trafficking*, which emphasize practitioner-centered approaches and trauma-informed care.
Her research explores community-based responses to sex trafficking, the intersection of identity-based oppression with victimization risks, and the efficacy of criminal justice/social service collaborations. Key grants include a 2019-2020 project on Missouri human trafficking responses and a 2017-2018 initiative analyzing juvenile justice-involved domestic minor sex trafficking cases.
