Andrea Mohr is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Essex, School of Life Sciences. Her research focuses on cellular crosstalk in the tumor microenvironment and metastasis formation, particularly involving mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). She holds a PhD from the University of Hannover (2000) and has held academic roles since, including Senior Research Officer at the University of Essex and Senior Scientist at the National University of Ireland, Galway. She currently directs the MSc Cancer Biology program at Essex.
Her qualifications include a PhD in Cancer Biology and extensive post-doctoral experience. Research interests span TRAIL signaling, stem cell therapy, and metastatic mechanisms. Recent work explores biohybrid microrobots for targeted cancer treatment and the role of Fas signaling in pancreatic cancer progression.
Publications highlight collaborations in nanotechnology, virology, and drug repurposing, with a focus on translating stem cell-based therapies. Grants and funding details are not explicitly listed, but her work suggests involvement in interdisciplinary cancer research projects.
