Andrea Kibler Maxwell is a Teaching Assistant Professor and Lead Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at the University of Pittsburgh’s Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. Her interdisciplinary background merges art history with clinical psychology, emphasizing holistic student mentorship. She specializes in premodern and early modern Italian art, particularly the interplay between religious discourse and visual rhetoric in Northern Italy (1475–1550). Her research examines how anti-Jewish and anti-Protestant imagery shaped communal identities. A Mental Health Champion, she prioritizes student wellbeing and employs innovative pedagogy in global art surveys.
