Andrea Kantrowitz is an Associate Professor and Program Director in the Art Education Department at SUNY New Paltz. She holds an EdD from Columbia University, an MFA from Yale University, and a BS from Harvard University. Her research focuses on drawing as a transdisciplinary tool for observation, discovery, and invention, bridging art, pedagogy, and cognitive science. She authored Drawing Thought: How Drawing Helps Us Observe, Discover and Invent, published by MIT Press, which explores drawing’s role in collaborative learning and research.
