Andrea Kammermann

Andrea Kammermann is a Lecturer at the Lucerne School of Music (HSLU), specializing in music education research with a focus on folk music traditions and refugee empowerment through music. She holds a PhD from the University of Innsbruck (2021) on the emotional dimensions of natural yodeling. Her research explores the interplay between alphorn music and yodeling, music cognition, and cultural heritage preservation.

Key projects include: 'Deep Neural Yodeling' (AI analysis of folk music patterns), 'Music as Empowerment' (using music workshops to integrate refugee youth), and the 'Jodelforum' network. She has organized major conferences like the 2nd National Yodel Forum and co-authored publications on Swiss folk music history and cognitive studies.
