Dr. Andrea Hernan is a Research Fellow at Deakin University's School of Medicine, Faculty of Health, based at the Warrnambool Campus. She holds a PhD and a Bachelor of Public Health and Health Promotion from Flinders University and has been actively contributing to health services research since 2008.
Her research expertise lies in mixed methods health services and implementation science, with a focus on patient safety, quality improvement, and type 2 diabetes prevention in primary and rural healthcare settings. She has extensive experience in qualitative methodologies, questionnaire design, and validation.
Dr. Hernan's recent publications center on patient-reported safety in primary care, the development and validation of safety measurement tools (e.g., PC PMOS), and patient feedback interventions. Her work spans Australia and international collaborations, demonstrating a strong commitment to improving healthcare systems through evidence-based research.
