معرفی
Dr. Andrea Ferroglia is a Professor of Physics at the City University of New York (CUNY) in the Department of Physics, School of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on elementary particle physics, particularly the Standard Model's Standard Model, top quark interactions, and Higgs boson dynamics. He has conducted postdoctoral research at institutions in Germany, Switzerland, and the UAE, and collaborates internationally with CERN and other global institutions.
Education:
- PhD in Theoretical Physics, New York University (2002)
- MS in Physics, New York University (2000)
- Laurea in Theoretical Physics, Università di Torino (1997)
Research Interests:
Dr. Ferroglia specializes in calculating Feynman diagrams for high-energy particle collisions, particularly at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). His work emphasizes top quark production, Higgs boson interactions, and Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). He also studies Bhabha scattering, weak decays of bottom quarks, and Soft-Collinear Effective Theory (SCET).
Teaching & Mentoring:
He teaches courses such as Modern Physics (PHYS 2443) and mentors students through programs like CRSP and ESP. Two of his mentees have pursued advanced studies at Boston University and Stony Brook University. He actively involves students in international research networks, connecting them with global collaborations.
