Education:
- Ph.D. and MPhil, The Graduate Center of The City University of New York

Professor Feeser's research critically examines the entanglement of place, community, culture, and environment through historical and contemporary lenses. Her work investigates how colonial structures and tourism have reshaped landscapes and social relations, particularly in Waikiki and South Carolina, while extending to contemporary art practices that explore interspecies and place-based interactions. This interdisciplinary approach bridges art history, environmental studies, and postcolonial theory to analyze material culture, racial dynamics, and memory formation.
Feeser's scholarly trajectory from 2006 to 2021 demonstrates an evolution from historical case studies of colonial impact to theoretical frameworks for understanding contemporary artistic relations. Her monographs collectively address memory politics, environmental legacies of colonialism, and art's capacity to reconfigure social bonds, spanning disciplines including Pacific Islander studies, Southern U.S. history, and global indigo trade networks.
Scientific Awards:
- National Council on Public History Book Award finalist (2007) for "Forgetting and Remembering Waikiki"
