Andrea Emberly

Andrea Emberly is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities at York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. Her educational background includes a Ph.D. and M.A. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Washington, an M.A. in Music Performance from Illinois State University, and a B.A. in Music Performance from the University of Alberta.

Her research focuses on ethnomusicology, music education, and children's cultural studies, examining how music functions within children's lives across diverse cultural contexts. Currently, she serves on departmental committees including Recruitment and Children's Studies Curriculum, while acting as Faculty Liaison for student associations.
