Dr Andrea Caporali is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Cardiovascular Science (University of Edinburgh), focusing on vascular biology and post-ischaemic regeneration. Their research integrates cutting-edge approaches like high-content screening, RNA sequencing, and pre-clinical imaging.
- Investigates non-coding RNA mechanisms in vascular pathophysiology and regeneration
- Examines dysregulation of endothelial cell communication under hypoxic/ischaemic conditions
- Applies functional genomics and loss-of-function studies to validate novel vascular targets
Current projects address impaired angiogenesis in diabetes/obesity and explore hemodynamical forces in vascular remodeling. The lab has identified new regulatory pathways impacting capillary growth and collateralization in vivo.
