Andrea C Conger is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at St. Olaf College, and Director of Public Health Studies. Her research explores how cultural factors influence human experiences through sport, dance, mindful practices, and play. She holds a B.A. from St. Olaf College, M.A. from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance (University of Limerick), and Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Her interdisciplinary work integrates anthropology, gender studies, and performance studies to develop health/wellness strategies for women and girls. Outside academia, she is an accomplished choreographer, runner, and Girls on the Run coach, reflecting her commitment to embodied learning.
Andrea's office hours in Fall 2024 are M/W 2:30-4:00pm and by appointment. She teaches courses at the intersection of culture, movement, and health.
