Andrea Buccisano

Andrea Buccisano is an Associate Professor of Tax Law at the University of Messina’s Department of Law 'Salvatore Pugliatti'. A prominent legal scholar, he has held academic positions since 1997, advancing to his current rank in 2019. His expertise spans Tax Law, Public Law, and International Tax Cooperation, with a focus on environmental taxation, procedural justice, and EU legal frameworks. He teaches Tax Law across undergraduate and graduate programs in Law and Economics, including courses on Tax Procedure and Environmental Fiscal Policy.

Buccisano’s research explores tax policy, administrative cooperation, and legal compliance, supported by grants from MIUR and leadership roles in university-funded projects. He actively participates in national and international conferences, addressing topics like AI in taxation (PRODIGIT project) and maritime tax issues. His contributions to legal publications include over 50 articles in journals like Rivista di Diritto Tributario and Rivista del Diritto della Navigazione.

Administratively, he serves on the Department’s governing board, chairs examination committees, and oversees digital initiatives for the Department. He has advised doctoral students and contributed to curriculum development in Legal Studies. His awards include a national qualification as an Associate Professor (2017) and a 1989 scholarship from the Fondazione Umberto Bonino.
