Andrea Betz

Andrea Betz is a Lecturer at the Chair of Religious Education and Didactics of Religious Education, Faculty of Catholic Theology, University of Würzburg. She holds a permanent position as Studienrätin (senior teacher) in the Bavarian school system, with affiliations to institutions like the Hardenberg-Gymnasium in Fürth and the Friedrich-Koenig-Gymnasium in Würzburg. Her academic work focuses on modernizing religious pedagogy through digital technologies, gamification, and interreligious dialogue.

• Education: Studium for Lehramt Gymnasium (Catholic Religious Education and Mathematics, 2004–2010); Dr. phil. in Religious Pedagogy (2017, University of Würzburg).

Her research spans eschatological didactics, cultural hermeneutics in religious education, and the impact of artificial intelligence on learning environments. She has contributed to publications such as Religionsdidaktik in der 10. Auflage and Religiöse Signaturen heute. Betz serves as a supervising teacher for school internships and is active in the academic community through her roles at the University of Würzburg since 2022.
