معرفی
Prof. Dr. Johanna Erdmenger is a Full Professor of Theoretical Physics at Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg. Her research focuses on quantum field theory, string theory, and gravitational dualities, with applications to condensed matter and elementary particle physics.
Education
- Diploma in Physics, Hamburg University (1992)
- PhD in Physics, University of Cambridge (1996)
- Habilitation, Humboldt University Berlin (2004)
Research Interests
Her work spans the AdS/CFT correspondence, quantum information theory, black hole physics, and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics. She explores foundational aspects of conformal field theories and higher spin dualities, bridging theoretical physics with quantum gravity applications.
At JMU Würzburg, she leads research initiatives in theoretical physics, particularly investigating the interplay between gauge theories and gravity. Her academic career includes leadership roles at the Max Planck Institute for Physics and Ludwig Maximilian University Munich.
Scientific Awards
- Emmy Noether Fellowship (2001-2005), Humboldt University Berlin
Teaching & Leadership
Prof. Erdmenger contributes to advanced lectures in theoretical physics, supervises doctoral and master students, and maintains collaborations in quantum field theory and gravity. She is actively involved in organizing the Würzburg Seminar on Quantum Field Theory and Gravity.
