Dr. Andre Narbonne is a Sessional Lecturer in the Department of English and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor. He holds a M.T.C.Y. from Georgian College, B.A.Hons. and M.A. from Dalhousie University, and a Ph.D. in Canadian Literature from the University of Western Ontario. His teaching and research focus on 19th-century Canadian and American literature, Confederation humour, creative writing, utopian/dystopian/apocalyptic literature, detective fiction, and biography.
Professional roles include serving on the executive of The Association for Canadian and Québec Literatures (2004-2010), chairing the Gabrielle Roy Prize Committee (2005-2006), and leading the Halifax chapter of the Canadian Poetry Association. As a writer, he has won major literary awards and contributes to The Windsor Review as fiction editor.
His creative works explore speculative genres and historical themes, blending academic rigor with imaginative storytelling. Narbonne’s career bridges maritime experience—having sailed as a marine engineer—with literary scholarship and creative production.
