Andre Milzarek is an Assistant Professor and Undergraduate Program Director for the DSBDT Major at the School of Data Science, CUHK-Shenzhen. Previously, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research (Peking University). He holds a Ph.D. (2016), M.S. (2013), and B.S. (2010) in Mathematics from Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on nonsmooth optimization, large-scale and stochastic optimization, and second-order methods. He has delivered talks at conferences like the AISM Applied Linear Algebra and International Symposium on Mathematical Programming.
