Andishe Attarbaschi

Andishe Attarbaschi is a Professor in Pediatrics serving as Co-Director and Senior Consultant in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at St. Anna Children's Hospital, Vienna, and Head of the Clinical Trials Unit “Studies and Statistics of Integrated Research and Projects (S²IRP)” at the St. Anna Children's Cancer Research Institute (CCRI). He chairs the Austrian Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (AGPHO) and National Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Societies (NaPHOS) at SIOPe.

His research centers on pediatric hematologic malignancies, particularly acute lymphoblastic leukemias and malignant lymphomas in children/adolescents. He drives translational research with immediate clinical applications to improve cure rates, focusing on risk-adapted treatment strategies, diagnostic marker development, and international clinical trial coordination through networks like SIOPEN, COG, and EBMT.

Recent publications emphasize large-scale international trials addressing genetic rearrangements in leukemia and response-adapted therapy in Hodgkin lymphoma, aiming to establish new treatment standards through multinational patient cohorts.

Dr. Attarbaschi leads SIOPe's education initiatives, developing core curricula for training pediatric hematologists/oncologists. As CCRI Principal Investigator for the Horizon Europe-funded IntReALL 2020 study (2023-2028), he directs research on childhood relapsed ALL.

He oversees the S²IRP team managing >60 clinical trials/registries across 16,000+ patients, serving as international coordination hub for Langerhans’ cell histiocytosis, neuroblastoma, and ALL stem cell transplantation studies.
