Anders Marklund serves as Senior Lecturer in Film Studies at Lund University's Centre for Languages and Literature (SOL), part of the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology. He teaches multiple courses across undergraduate and graduate levels including Scandinavian and European Film: Culture and History in Film and Television, Film Studies at various levels, Swedish Film, and Aesthetics of Crisis: Health and Well-being. As an internationally engaged educator, he has participated as an Erasmus lecturer in Poland, Spain, and Germany.
His research profile centers on contemporary European film and television with particular focus on Spanish, Italian, and German productions. Key research areas include:

- Co-founder and primary editor of the Journal of Scandinavian Cinema (Intellect, 2011-present)
- Co-founder and inaugural co-chair of SCMS' Scandinavian Special Interest Group (2014-15)
- Initiator and organizer of the Lübeck Film Studies Colloquium (since 2014)
With previous administrative experience as director of studies and coordinator for teacher education programs, Marklund has developed innovative approaches to film pedagogy, particularly through projects promoting video essays and visual expressions. He currently serves as Co-Principal Investigator for the CEMES (Centre for Modern European Studies) project, an Öresund Network connecting Lund University with Malmö University and the University of Copenhagen.
