Norwegian University of Science and Technologyمعرفی
Anders Lyngvi Fougner is an Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering Cybernetics, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), since 2018. He previously served as a postdoctoral researcher at the same institute (2014–2017). He coordinates the NTNU Artificial Pancreas Trondheim (APT) research group, focusing on developing automated glucose control systems for diabetes patients. His past research included myoelectric control of upper-limb prostheses, culminating in his PhD thesis on robust prosthetic control systems (2013).
His current research emphasizes closed-loop glucose control through intraperitoneal insulin delivery, leveraging mathematical modeling and system identification. APT research spans meal detection via body sounds/ECG, insulin absorption dynamics, and dual-hormone systems. He teaches biomedical instrumentation (TTK4270) and supervises numerous master’s and PhD students.
Key collaborations include the Center for Digital Life Norway and industry partners like Prediktor Medical AS. His work bridges engineering and clinical needs, with over 30 peer-reviewed publications since 2010. Former students now work in academia, medical tech firms, and healthcare sectors.
He advises 30+ master’s theses annually in biomedical cybernetics, focusing on prosthetics and diabetes tech. His research has been funded by the Research Council of Norway and NTNU collaborations.
