Anders Hedegaard Hansen is Associate Professor in Energy Technology at Aalborg University's Faculty of Engineering and Science, where he leads research in fluid power systems and wave energy conversion. His work focuses on hydraulic power take-off systems, digital hydraulics, and model predictive control applications.
Hansen directs multiple EUDP-funded projects including 'PTO TWIN' for wave energy converter optimization and 'DigitalPTO' for hydraulic power take-off systems. His research has produced innovations in energy-efficient hydraulic transformers and control algorithms, recognized by multiple Best Paper Awards from ASME.
With over 39 publications, Hansen's work spans wave energy conversion, hydraulic drive systems, and tribomechatronics. He teaches courses in fluid power systems modeling and received Aalborg University's Teacher of the Year award in 2023 and 2010.
