معرفی
Anatolij Horuzsko is a Professor of Medicine, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Graduate Studies at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University. He is a key member of the Molecular Oncology and Biomarkers Program at the Georgia Cancer Center, where he leads research on immunology and cancer biology.
Education:
- DS, Molecular Biology, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1987)
- Ph.D., Immunology, Academy of Medical Sciences of the Soviet Union (1980)
- MD, Medicine, Leningrad Pediatric Medical Institute (1976)
Research Focus: Dr. Horuzsko investigates inflammation-driven carcinogenesis, emphasizing TREM-1's role in liver fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. His work on HLA-G explores immune tolerance mechanisms to prolong organ allograft survival, utilizing humanized mouse models for translational studies. His lab examines cross-talk between hepatocytes, Kupffer cells, and hepatic stellate cells.
Publication Trends: Recent articles (2018–2025) highlight TREM-1 inhibition for cancer immunotherapy, HLA-G-mediated transplant tolerance, metabolic/epigenetic regulation in liver cancer, and innovative humanized mouse models. Themes include myeloid-derived suppressor cells, PD-1 resistance, and regulatory B-cell induction.
Awards:
- University Sorbonne Paris Cite Award (2024)
- Shine Award, Augusta University Health (2023)
- Nominated for BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award (2020)
- Wellcome Trust International Research Fellowship (1992)
Leadership: Dr. Horuzsko directs a laboratory team focused on immune regulation and cancer therapeutics, with roles on university committees including Promotion and Tenure, Molecular Medicine Graduate Education, and editorial boards for Frontiers in Immunology and Advances in Laboratory Medicine.
