Anat R. Admati is the George G.C. Parker Professor of Finance and Economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB), with a courtesy appointment in the Department of Economics at Stanford University. She is a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research and has held various roles, including Director of the Corporations and Society Initiative at the GSB. Her research focuses on financial regulations, corporate governance, and banking, emphasizing accountability mechanisms between businesses, governments, and the private sector. Admati holds degrees from Hebrew University (BSc) and Yale University (MA, MPhil, PhD), with an honorary doctorate from the University of Zurich.
Her notable works include the award-winning book *The Bankers’ New Clothes* (2013, updated 2024), critiquing banking regulations, and influential papers on financial disclosure, leverage effects, and market equilibrium. Admati has served on committees like the FDIC’s Systemic Resolution Advisory Committee and contributed to policy debates globally. She has received multiple honors, including being named Time’s 100 Most Influential People (2014) and a Fellow of the Econometric Society.
