Anastasiya Bayok

Dr. Anastasiya Bayok is a Research Fellow in the Department of Political Science at Justus Liebig University Giessen, specializing in International Relations with a focus on Chinese foreign policy, East Asian security, and conflict transformation. She holds a PhD in International Relations from East China Normal University (2012) and has held postdoctoral and visiting research positions at institutions including the Freie Universität Berlin and the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH) in Hamburg.

Research Interests: Dr. Bayok’s research explores Chinese domestic and foreign policy, Sino-Russian relations, authoritarian learning mechanisms, and Cold War history. She is particularly interested in China’s role in Central Asia, security governance at the Sino-Russian border, and the Belt and Road Initiative’s geopolitical implications.
