Anastasis Polycarpou

Anastasis Polycarpou is a Professor at the University of Nicosia, serving as Head of the Department of Engineering and a member of the Senate. With over 25 years of academic experience, he specializes in Wireless Communications, RF/Microwave Circuits, Antenna Analysis & Design, and Computational Methods in Electromagnetics. His career spans academic leadership, funded research collaborations with Boeing, NASA, and the European Union, and editorial roles in IEEE and IET journals.

• MSc in Electrical Engineering (1994)
• PhD in Electrical Engineering (1998)

Current research focuses on machine learning applications in healthcare, particularly skin cancer classification and vital sign monitoring via smartphone cameras. His work also extends to antenna technologies through participation in the COST-IC1102 VISTA initiative.
