Anastasia Todd is an Associate Professor in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Kentucky. Her research focuses on intersections of disability, girlhood, and media, with a particular emphasis on feminist disability studies and affect theory. She holds a Ph.D. and B.A. in Gender/Women’s Studies from Arizona State University.

ResearchExplores how disabled girlhood is represented in contemporary media, challenging assumptions of non-disabled girlhood. Her award-winning book Cripping Girlhood examines post-ADA anxieties through media portrayals. Current projects investigate disabled youth’s affective relationships with smartphones as survival tools.
