Dr. Anastasia Aukeman is a Part-time Associate Teaching Professor at Parsons School of Design, The New School. An art historian and curator, she specializes in Post-WWII American art, artistic collaborations, and the role of arts in social change. She holds a Ph.D. in Art History from CUNY Graduate Center.
Her research examines artistic communities and countercultural movements, particularly focused on the Rat Bastard Protective Association in San Francisco. She has curated multiple exhibitions on this subject and published extensively on contemporary art practices.
