St. Mary's College of Marylandمعرفی
Anandi C. Ehman, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland (since Fall 2021) where she teaches psychopathology, counseling theories, psychology of gender, scientific writing and mentors collaborative research. A licensed psychologist in Maryland, she integrates an intersectional, trauma-informed lens into her research on interpersonal aggression, sexual violence, and victim-survivor support, with particular attention to Title-IX policy impacts and marginalized communities (LGBTQ+, BIPOC, male survivors).
Education & Training:
- Ph.D. Clinical Psychology, University of Mississippi, 2021
- M.A. Clinical Psychology, University of Mississippi, 2016
- B.A. Psychology & English (minor Biology), Florida Gulf Coast University, 2013 (Summa Cum Laude)
Research Interests:
Dr. Ehman’s scholarship centers on a functional-contextual understanding of aggression, violence, and trauma. Using both cross-sectional and longitudinal designs, she investigates how social norms, alcohol use, and systemic policies shape sexual cyberbullying and help-seeking after sexual victimization. Clinically, she employs evidence-based practices (ACT, DBT, CBT, CPT, PE) to serve trauma survivors, especially those from underserved populations.
Publication Trends:
Her 16 peer-reviewed works (2013-2024) cluster into four domains: (i) sexual aggression and cyberbullying among college students, (ii) COVID-related moral injury and mental-health outcomes in healthcare workers, (iii) psychosocial adjustment of pediatric/AYA cancer survivors facing fertility threat, and (iv) contextual-behavioral intervention case studies. These strands collectively advance knowledge on both etiology and intervention for violence-related trauma.
Professional Service & Awards:
- Co-chair, Justice Equity Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) Committee, Mid-Atlantic Chapter – Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences
- Spotlighted as “vital member” of MAC-ACBS, July 2025
Teaching & Mentoring:
Dr. Ehman uses inclusive, dynamic pedagogy to train undergraduates in clinical science, research methods, and professional development. She actively mentors directed research projects and emphasizes intersectional, trauma-informed perspectives across curricula.
Clinical & Community Engagement:
Beyond academia, she provides individual and group therapy to survivors of violence, contributes to policy discussions on Title-IX, and enjoys hiking, knitting, gardening, and Dungeons & Dragons.
