Anand Shrivastava is an Associate Professor of Economics at Azim Premji University, Bangalore, India, and a Faculty Fellow at the Centre for Sustainable Employment. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, alongside an MPhil, Graduate Diploma in Economics from Cambridge, and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras.
His research focuses on the Economics of Conflict, Labour Economics, and Networks, with recent work exploring intersections between religion, politics, and economic outcomes. He has highlighted how social identities like religion and caste influence political preferences and labor market dynamics in developing economies.
