Professor Anand Menon is a leading academic in European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King's College London, affiliated with the School of Politics & Economics and the European & International Studies Department. His research focuses on the EU's political institutions, Brexit implications, security policies, and transnational diplomacy.
Menon holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Oxford, following earlier degrees from the same institution. He previously directed the European Research Institute at the University of Birmingham and held roles at Oxford's St Antony’s College. His current projects include leading the UK in a Changing Europe initiative, a major ESRC-funded research hub analyzing Brexit's societal, political, and economic impacts.
His research interests span EU foreign policy, British and French security strategies, NATO, and institutional theories of integration. He frequently engages with media (Newsnight, BBC Today) and policy circles, offering expert commentary on UK-EU relations, global Britain, and defense cooperation.
