Analola Santana is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theater at Dartmouth College and serves as Chair of the department. She is also affiliated with the Latin American, Latino & Caribbean Studies program. Her teaching and research focus on Latin American and Latinx theater, performance studies, and political critique through artistic expression.
She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine. Her scholarly work examines intersections of theater with mass culture, colonialism, neoliberalism, and gender politics. Key publications include Freak Performances: Dissidence in Latin American Theatre (2018), co-edited volumes like Theatre and Cartographies of Power (2018), and articles in journals such as Theatre Journal and Latin American Theatre Review.
Her recent articles analyze themes like affective labor in performance, neoliberalism's impact on Mexican identity, and invisibility in Latin American political theater.
