Jorge Rubio

Jorge Rubio is a Lecturer in Theater Arts at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he teaches acting and engages in interdisciplinary collaborations. He has held academic roles at institutions such as Bunker Hill Community College (Assistant Professor and Theatre Program Coordinator), City University of New York, La Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, UPC, Universidad Científica del Sur, and La Universidad de San Ignacio de Loyola. His work focuses on exploring social equity, cultural diversity, and artistic expression through international theater projects.

His recent projects include More or Less I Am Remote with Compagnia de Colombari, El Colaborador at MicroTeatro Lima, and performances at institutions like The Public Theater, La Mama, and American Repertory Theater. He co-founded the theater school Talleres de Teatro con Jorge y Monilú in Peru, offering acting workshops for all ages.

Jorge collaborates with global theater practitioners such as Karin Coonrod, Peter Brook, and Dominique Serrand. His career spans New York, U.S. regional theaters, Peru, and Russia. He is of Mexican heritage and balances his academic and artistic work with family life and hobbies like cooking, running, and surfing.
