Ana Rita Peixoto is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science and Technology at ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon, School of Technology and Architecture. She is also an Integrated Researcher at ISTAR-Iscte - Research Center in Information Sciences, Technologies and Architecture. Her academic and research activities focus on applied data science, network science, and natural language processing, particularly in the context of social media analysis for tech startups.

Ana Rita's recent publications analyze Twitter data to understand startup behavior, community structures, and content evolution over time. Her work combines AI techniques with real-world business applications, particularly in the Portuguese tech ecosystem. She has published in journals such as Applied Network Science and Social Network Analysis and Mining, and presented at conferences including ICPEC 2024 and Ciência 2022.
Ana Rita is actively involved in teaching, offering courses such as Introduction to Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Data-Driven Decision Making at both undergraduate and master’s levels. She currently supervises two master’s students: Bruno Alexandre Baião de Oliveira and Nicole Lopes Nunes.
She is a key participant in the research project ISDAPPP (Information Systems and Data Analysis for Public Policy Planning), which applies data science techniques to public policy challenges, including text analysis of workshop outputs and inequality monitoring.
