Dr Ana Morais Natalio is a Research Fellow in the Agriculture and Environment Department at Harper Adams University, focusing on interdisciplinary soil science research. Her work bridges soil biology, physicochemical properties, and agricultural systems to address sustainability challenges. She holds a PhD in Soil Science from Harper Adams University (HAU), an MSc in Entomology (HAU), and a BSc in Biological Sciences from Birkbeck College, University of London.
Her research explores soil health, nutrient cycling, pest management, and ecosystem restoration. Key projects include the AgroCycle EU consortium (circular economy in agri-food systems), the Paludiculture Innovation Project (PIP), and collaborations with EcoInsect Ltd on Black Soldier Fly valorisation. She also contributed to soil pore structure analysis at the University of Nottingham, using advanced imaging techniques like X-ray computed tomography.
Professional affiliations include the British Ecological Society, British Society of Soil Science, and the International Union of Soil Sciences. Her work emphasizes practical applications in sustainable agriculture, soil conservation, and minimizing environmental impacts of farming practices.
