Ana María Rodríguez Guerrero

Ana María Rodríguez Guerrero is a Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), affiliated with the Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences school and the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry and has four research periods (sexenios) recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education. She currently serves as Director of the UIB Doctoral School (EDUIB) and previously directed the Master’s Degree and Doctoral Program in Nutrigenomics and Personalized Nutrition.

• PhD in Biochemistry

Her research focuses on Nutrigenomics, studying gene-nutrient interactions, epigenetics, and metabolic programming. She investigates how early nutritional interventions can prevent diseases related to energy control, obesity, and its complications, including effects on adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, and neuronal/cognitive health. Her work spans molecular biology, biochemistry, and public health disciplines.

She teaches undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses, including Bioethics and Quality in Bioscience Laboratories, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I, and Nutrigenomics Research Seminars. She is a member of the consolidated R&D&I group NuBE (Nutrigenomics, Biomarkers, and Risk Assessment), contributing to experimental research in biochemistry and nutrition.
