Dr. Ana-Maria Herman is an Associate Professor in Higher Education Learning and Teaching at the University of Greenwich (since 2023). She holds a PhD in Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London. Her research focuses on digital technologies' impact on cultural heritage, museum practices, and gender politics. Notable projects include apps promoting overlooked women artists (Gwen John, Dorothy Mead) and critical analyses of augmented reality in heritage spaces.
Education: PhD in Sociology (Goldsmiths, University of London). Previous roles included positions at Swansea University, Toronto Metropolitan University, and visiting fellowships at Massey College (University of Toronto) and Goldsmiths' Centre for Invention and Social Process.
Research Interests: Digital heritage technologies, mobile cultural practices, gender in digital archives, museum digitalization challenges, and socio-technical dynamics in cultural institutions. Her work bridges sociology, media studies, and STS.
