Dr. Ana Lucia Araujo is a Professor of History at Howard University specializing in slavery, Atlantic slave trade, and their modern legacies. A social historian trained in Brazil, Canada, and France, she holds dual PhDs in History/Anthropology and Art History.
Research focuses on slavery reparations, public memory, and material culture. Recent books include hemispheric histories of slavery and analyses of prestige objects in colonial exchanges. Recognized with Guggenheim and ACLS fellowships.
