Dr. Ana Londoño is an Associate Professor of Earth Sciences at Lindenwood University's College of Science, Technology, and Health. She holds a B.E. in Geological Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Cincinnati. With 11 years of university teaching experience and seven years in government geologic mapping, her research focuses on interdisciplinary interactions between geologic processes and human activities. Key areas include pre-Columbian agricultural terraces in Peru, water resource management under stress, natural hazards (e.g., landslides, earthquakes), and 3D mapping of archaeological sites using geospatial technologies.
Her professional presentations and peer-reviewed publications span topics like climate impacts on landscapes, floodway activation effects, and lidar applications in cultural heritage preservation. Dr. Londoño teaches courses such as Physical Geology, Environmental Sciences, and Hydrology. Her work integrates field techniques, remote sensing, and geomorphological analysis to address both academic and applied challenges in Earth Sciences.
