Ana Laura Lobo is an adjunct professor at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) and part-time affiliated faculty at SIT Graduate Institute's MA in Sustainable Development Practice program. She holds a master's degree in social research from UBA's Faculty of Social Sciences and completed doctoral work at UBA and Universidad Nacional de San Martín. As a sociologist, her research focuses on social justice, human rights, and the intersection of art/culture with social transformation. She has served as academic coordinator for SIT's Regional Integration program and associate director of the Social Movements and Human Rights Program since 2011 and 2012, respectively.
Her teaching includes courses like Peace Culture and Human Rights, chaired by Nobel laureate Adolfo Pérez Esquivel. She has presented at major conferences including LASA (2018-2019) on topics like Patagonian territorial disputes and Global South perspectives. Lobo also advises government entities: she worked with Argentina's Ministry of Industry on economic development projects and served as a technical consultant for the Envión social inclusion program in Avellaneda.
Her research affiliations include the Human Rights and Strategic Resources project in Latin America. She combines academic work with practical advocacy, emphasizing participatory methodologies and critical analysis of extractive models.
