Ana Filipa Faria Lopes

Ana Filipa Faria Lopes is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), affiliated with the Department of Economics and the Department of Business and Sustainability. She joined SDU in January 2024 and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Stavanger (Norway). Prior to this, she was a Postdoc at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, Germany, and worked at the Center for Ocean and Society.

Research Interests: Dr. Lopes specializes in non-market valuation of environmental goods and services, focusing on methods like contingent valuation. Her work addresses topics such as oil pollution prevention, beach amenity value, water purification, and ecosystem services. She emphasizes advancing methodologies to analyze demand for environmental goods and services.

Grants & Projects:

• Co-Principal Investigator for the Trees4Water project (2023–2024), improving water quality through forest solutions.

Labs/Teams: Affiliated with the SDU Climate Cluster and the Institute of Economics. She teaches Microeconomics and actively collaborates on environmental sustainability initiatives.
