Ana Cloquell Miro

Dr. Ana Cloquell Miro is a Clinical Professor in Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. Her work focuses on neurological disorders in companion animals, with a strong emphasis on diagnostic imaging (MRI/CT), surgical interventions, and neuro-oncology. She has contributed to advancements in understanding conditions such as gliomas, meningoencephalomyelitis, and spinal disorders in dogs and cats.

Her research interests include novel therapies for neurological conditions, such as viroimmunotherapy for gliomas, and the application of imaging techniques for accurate diagnosis. She has also investigated genetic and infectious causes of neurological diseases, including episodic ataxia in Cocker Spaniels and tick-borne flavivirus infections.

Her recent work highlights innovations in surgical techniques, such as frontal sinus repair using polymethyl methacrylate and transthoracic approaches for thoracic spinal fractures.
