Dr. Hannah Emily Goldstein is an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Neurosurgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children's Hospital, where she serves as an attending pediatric neurosurgeon specializing in brain tumor surgery, epilepsy surgery, and vascular anomalies. She joined Seattle Children's Hospital in July 2020 after completing her pediatric neurosurgery fellowship there.
Dr. Goldstein received her BS in Neuroscience from Brown University (graduating magna cum laude) and her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she was awarded a Doris Duke research fellowship. She completed her seven-year neurological surgery residency at Columbia University Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident during her final year.
Her research focuses on innovative approaches to pediatric neurosurgical conditions, with particular emphasis on brain tumor treatment, epilepsy surgery optimization, and novel therapeutic delivery methods. She has developed expertise in functional MRI applications for surgical planning, especially for bilingual pediatric patients, and has contributed significantly to CAR T-cell therapy research for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).
