Ana BĂRAR

Ana BĂRAR serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electronic Technology and Reliability at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ETTI) of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest. Her research spans metamaterials, photovoltaics, terahertz technology, and nanophotonics, focusing on electromagnetic properties of artificial media and optoelectronic device optimization. Key areas include photon management in perovskite solar cells using fractal metadevices, terahertz wavefront control, and electro-optical behavior of nanoparticle-doped liquid crystals. This interdisciplinary work bridges materials science, electromagnetics, and renewable energy applications.

Analysis of her 15 most recent publications reveals consistent innovation in metamaterial design for energy harvesting (2021-2024), particularly in perovskite solar cell efficiency via fractal photon trapping. Parallel research explores terahertz/mid-infrared sensing (2020-2022) using metasurfaces and ring resonators, while earlier work (2018-2020) investigates liquid crystal composites for tunable optical devices. Her methodology integrates theoretical modeling with experimental validation across photovoltaics, spectroscopy, and nanophotonics.
